The Next Step

Fall has arrived and brings a host of fabulous opportunities. I haven't posted much, but plan on making a fresh start to the blog challenge. I completed a huge check on my bucket list with the completion of the Master Gardner course. Happy to have the experience and plan on putting the knowledge to good use. I've been volunteering with the Horticulture Therapy program which has been very rewarding.

I'll be re-designing and landscaping the front of the house first. With the assistance of Ian Bloxhan the multi phase plan will begin early October. Check in for lots of before and after photos.

Fall is always a busy time and I have several trips planned taking me in many directions. First is National Harbor DC for the INC 500/5000 event. Hubby and Company are VIPS so looking forward to all the special treatment. Next will be OKC for the Oklahoma Head Race and grand opening of the new Devon Boathouse home of OCU rowing. Attending the BLU party and watching the night racing are two of the highlights.

Onward and upward I have started painting as well as designing a few pieces of furniture. I'll post some pictures in the near future. Talking with another artist about possibly sharing studio space. EXCITING!!!

So I'll leave you with this thought:

How many cares one loses when one decides not to be something but to be someone. Enjoy life!

The Monk

I'm thinking Italian Monastery and who this Father might be? During my treasure hunt this past weekend I found him at an Estate Sale. Fell in love with the deep thoughtful look in his eyes or maybe he just reminded me of the fabulous churches and abbeys in Italy. Needless to say he came home with me and is now the watchful eye gazing over my shoulder. The piece is unframed and is placed in a table top easel (a clearance find from Pottery Barn). I like the unpretencious presentation and find it suits the casual nature of what probably is a street artist sketch.

What do you think should he be matted and framed?
